यो न हृष्यति न द्वेष्टि न शोचति न काङ्क्षति । शुभाशुभपरित्यागी भक्तिमान्यः स मे प्रियः ॥ १२-१७॥

ಶ್ಲೋಕಾರ್ಥ (ಶ್ಲೋಕ ಮಟ್ಟ)
ಯಾರು ಹಿಗ್ಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ದುಃಖಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಬಯಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ, ಶುಭ ಮತ್ತು ಅಶುಭ ಎರಡನ್ನೂ ತ್ಯಜಿಸಿದವನೋ - ಅಂತಹ ಭಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳ ಭಕ್ತನು ನನಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯನು.
ವ್ಯಾಖ್ಯಾನ
ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಪಲ್ಲವಿ ಮೂರನೇ ಬಾರಿ ಬರುತ್ತದೆ ("ಭಕ್ತಿಮಾನ್ ... ಸ ಮೇ ಪ್ರಿಯಃ" ಎಂಬ ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ). ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಮಾನಸಿಕ ಸಮತೋಲನ - ಸಂತೋಷ-ದ್ವೇಷ-ದುಃಖ-ಬಯಕೆ ಇವ್ಯಾವುದರಲ್ಲೂ ಸಿಲುಕದೆ, ಶುಭಾಶುಭ ಫಲಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಿರಪೇಕ್ಷನಾಗಿರುವುದೇ ನಿಜವಾದ ಭಕ್ತಿಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣ ಎಂದು ಕೃಷ್ಣ ಸಾರುತ್ತಾನೆ.

Anvaya (Phrase Level)
yaḥ na hṛṣyati, na dveṣṭi, na śocati, na kāṅkṣati, śubhāśubhaparityāgī (ca asti), saḥ bhaktimān me priyaḥ.
He who neither rejoices, nor hates, nor grieves, nor desires, and has renounced both good and evil — such a devoted one is dear to Me.
Translation (Sloka Level)
One who neither rejoices nor hates, neither grieves nor desires, and has given up both good and evil actions — such a devotee is dear to Me.
Commentary
The refrain returns a third time (as "bhaktimān ... sa me priyaḥ"). Complete equanimity — untouched by joy, hatred, grief, or craving, and indifferent to auspicious or inauspicious outcomes — is proclaimed the true mark of devotion.
